All this crap about "the owner this"and "the owner that".. Let me tell you about what the owner has done. At the time he purchased the place, it was dead and on life support. Now, it pulsates with energy and new faces every Friday and Saturday night. While every other gay bar on Long Island has failed and the doors have closed for good, this place ROCKS. Meanwhile, his staff is amazing, the drinks recipes are what other bars steal, and the prices simply can't be beat. and guess what, I have NEVER been asked for a dime to enter the place. The terminally disgruntled reviewer above who was so unimpressed with the drinks at the bar would probably have found the experience somewhat more pleasant if he had removed the stick from iup his hole and unbunched his panties from their wad. I hope he made it too Nuts & Bolts in time to purchase one of their notoriously tiny $15 dixie-cup drinks before they closed up for good. Afterall, while the Long Island Eagle is approaching its 30th year in business, Nuts & Boolts lasted just a few moths beyond its first year. The owner of The Long Island Eagle must be doing something right, and only to the benefit of the local gay community.

There are two surviving gay bars on Long Island. The Long Island Eagle in Suffolk County, and Blanche in Nassau County. Both bars have been in existence for 25 or more years. These bars have seen new bars come and go and have stood the test of time. This is no coincidence. Do yourself a favor, take these and any online review you peruse with a grain of salt. Often times, but not always, they are written by disgruntled patrons who had to be removed from the club or people who were cut off by the bartender, manager or owner. No one at Blanche or The LI Eagle has a vested interest in being mean, rude or unresponsive to a customers needs. You owe it to yourself to give these two bars a visit and make up your own mind. As the owner of The Long Island Eagle, it is unsettling when I search the web to discover that anonymous people have slandered libeled and besmirched me. But it is what it is. And just as the internet gives them a platform so does it give one to me.
The Long Island Eagle is open 7 days a week 9pm-4am
We cater everyone. We are the GetOut! Magazine "Bar of the Year" for 2013, 2014 & 2015. .GetOut! Magazine "Best Bar Staff" 2015 and Odyssey Magazine "Best Bar" 2014. Our drinks and mixology are superb and often times imitated by other local clubs which we find very flattering. We have the coolest customers. People from all walks of life. Gay, Str8, Men and Women. Drag Queens, Muscled Gods, and Nerds. They al are made to feel lie part of the family when here. All ages seem to fit right in, BUT, unlike the drivel spewed in a previous post, We DO NOT ALLOW anyone without proper ID into the club, and it is 21 and older to even enter. My name is Brett and I hope to see you soon.
