"HIGH ENERGY with LOTS OF NUDITY!"
An Interview With Another Engine
-by

"We all have good imaginations that seem to work well together,"
says Another Engines own Andrew Vitiello of his bands chemistry. "We
present things to each other in the most basic forms possible, then
attempt to take it somewhere together. Both arguing and joking seem
to lead to the most productive times we have."
Another Engine- Danny Aviles, Marco
Ribeiro, Andrew Vitiello, Billy Vitiello- have been producing solid
rock and roll for Long Islanders for the past 8 years. Banging around
the 'Basement,' as they call it, and playing everywhere from Long
Island's The Downtown to The Dublin Pub and NYC's CBGB's to the Metro
Cafe in Washington DC. They're style of brash guitar rock with a hint
of electronica has earned them kudos among local fans and fellow bands
alike and they are destine and determined to leave on Long Island
and the world. The Mineola based foursome blend melody with mayhem
and their live shows are just the same. I contacted the band recently
and asked them about where they felt they "fit-in" within the Long
Island circuit.
Where do you think you guys fit in among the local music circuit?
AV: Never have, never will. We play
in a basement...it happens to be a basement on Long Island. Sometimes
we leave that basement to play a show and sometimes that show is on
Long Island.
MR: At the end.
DA: It's not about fitting in, it's about
making music.
What other local bands do you think rock?
MR: Electrasic - a band that gave us
a kick in the ass when we first started out. These guys inspired us
to go out and play hard every night and they taught us to appreciate
our talent as a band. I love to go watch these guys perform. This
band has one of the best frontman I've ever seen and not enough people
know about them.
Why should someone go out and see you guys live?
AV: Because they like our music.
MR: We promise a high energy performance
with lots of nudity.
DA: So they can get a taste of originality.
What can we expect to see at your live performance?
AV: Four moderately handsome young fellows
playing some music... other than that your guess is as good as mine.
You will either be incredibly interested or kinda bored, depending
on how you feel and how we play that particular night.
Any crazy club stories?
AV: The ones I'm guessing you want to
hear are the ones I have trouble remembering or just wouldn't want
to tell.
Any rituals before you go onstage?
AV: Smoke pot, drink beer. Not too deep, but I am usually very
nervous before playing.
MR: Isolation for at least 10 minutes.
DA: Listening to music in the car on
the way to the show.
